The S3's camera

Thomas H

Lurker
I'm a little torn: I switched from the iPhone 4 (not 4s) and have so far found that the s3's 8 megapixel can't shine a light to the iPhone 4's 4 mp camera. I feel like there has to be an app out there that will improve the quality, or at least work on the s3's autofocus and white balancing. I shoot with a Canon most of the time, but found that my iPhone had the capability to shoot stellar photographs as well. This *upgrade* to the s3 is a bit of a disappointment. HOWEVER, in EVERY aspect besides the camera, the s3 outshines the iPhone.

Funny, I find the S3's pix to be better than my wife's 4s. Pictures appear sharper with better contrast.

Give Camera Zoom FX a go. It's a much better camera app and really shows off the S3's camera abilities!

its all about lighting conditions. if you use it in the same lighting conditions as the iphone then you will fine it is superior. also you should only enable hdr pictures for closeups

I found the 4s to have a better camera to be honest. Comparing both images it was without a doubt the 4s

example of photos in fair lighting conditions
no flash, hdr enabled (as you would do with iphone)
also consider that photobucket has downgraded the quality a little and resized them
