So for those of you who have gone through a ton of Android phones like I have, do you think it's the smoothest you've used? The S8 is nothing like the S7 touch wiz or I call it tough wiz. It was choppy and sticky. This S8 is so fluid and smooth. The more I use it the more I appreciate it. It's by far the smoothest interface I've used. However I have not used the Pixel but did have the Nexus 6p which I think the Pixel is a tweaked out version of the 6p anyway and the S8 beats it out. What do you guys think. Is the S8 the smoothest Android interface on the market? I think so. Just curious of everyone's take on it. Chime in and let me know what your take is. Do you keep your S8 at full resolution or do you keep it in default mode as it came? Also it seems that most have the plus version. I feel like I am the minority having the regular S8. Post what you have either the regular size or the plus and why you chose your model. I'm just curious of others thoughts. I also see a lot of people not using a screen protector. I'm definitely using one but not a tempered glass. I'm using a liquid skin by skinomi. Post what you use or the kind as I'm curious what else is out there that is good. The Skinomi is great and does not collect fingerprints hardly at all. So are you a regular size S8 user or a Plus user? Tell me why you chose one over the other. I personally like the one handed use. I wanted the plus but I was afraid it would be just too big after prolonged usage. I might be totally wrong though. Anyways thoughts???

Help The S8 is the smoothest Android interface I've ever used. Thoughts?

Actually one of the negatives for me, and one reason I've not so far bought one, was that I see frame drops and small UI lags and hesitations in many of the display models I've played with. Of course they are mostly running display mode software, which may not be a fair comparison, but I've found it offputting. I've certainly experienced a number of phones with smoother interfaces.
For the record, I'm in the UK so we have the Exynos 8895 version here. I've heard from people who have used both that the North American (s835) version is better in this respect, and Anandtech's recent comparison article would seem to bear that out.
(The Plus is too big for me, so I've only spent a few seconds with that one).

That's interesting isn't it? You would think they'd optimise their display mode software to perform well. Not a great way to sell a flagship phone.
I'm not an S8 owner, but my phone runs smooth enough for me.
Well it's an extra process on top of everything else. Another factor could be that the phones are usually plugged in (generating heat) with the display on and at high brightness (generating more heat), which might affect performance. But I was particularly struck a few weeks ago when I played with an S8 and a G6 and the G6 was noticably smoother and more responsive, despite having a less powerful processor and the same number of pixels to drive (both were on display next to each other with screens permanently on). To be fair another S8 on a different display in the same shop was also more responsive than the first one, though not as smooth as the HTC U11 near it.
I agree that if it were me trying to sell the phones I'd try to improve the setup of the display models. I don't like the idea of buying something to try and returning it if unhappy (hassle for me, costs for everyone else involved), so haven't had a chance to try the S8 longer-term in real-life usage, but I find these glitches in the display models offputting. But judging by their sales figures it can only bother a minority of people.
I've not noticed much skipping/frame rate drops etc, but I'm running a ROM with a huge chunk of the standard Samsung nonsense disabled or not installed.
