Help The same entry, multiple times in my calendar...?!

good Afternoon all.... wonder if i can trouble you for some assitance on this.

background info

- HTC Desire HD phone on vodafone in the UK.

Issue

The problem is with the calendar app that was preloaded with the phone; i have linked this to my gmail account, and it is also linked to my facebook account.

todays entry shows:

- 2 seperate events that were in my gmail account: this is all fine.
- 2 birthdays that were linked through my FB account, however 1 birthday is showing 6 times, and the other 4 times.

this is repeated for pretty much every FB birthday entry on my calendar.

The question:

how on earth do i reset / clear / change settings to ensure that in the FB accoun it shows each brithday only once, and not multiple times...!!???

if i go into the calendar app and manually change the 'calendars' that provide the info, and remove the FB one then it shows the correct entries from my gmail calendar - however if i then go back in and 'check' the FB calendar entry, it goes back to the original state and shows these 'birthdays' numerous times....v irritating!!

Can anyone help me resolve this??

I don't use the calendars, but have you tried clearing the data from them via the applications menu then resyncing?

Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Calendar -> Clear Data
 
It will yeah, but it should download all the events again when you resync. I think that just clears the local data.

I could be wrong though, as I say. I don't use the calendar widgets so before doing so, see what others have to say.
 
just done it - doesnt seem to delete anything from the local calendar on the phone....

hmmm....

tired re-synching the FB calendar and it still shows up individual birthdays a multiple number of times.... 6 in some cases..!!!???
 
I too am having this problem.
I have tried deleting everything & then re-syncing which at first works but after a while & a few link contacts requests the Facebook birthdays start to multiply again.
Does anyone have a solution to stop this happening it is really driving me mad.

I think I may have sorted this problem out.
I went in Accounts & sync and then went into Facebook for HTC sense and then I pressed on remove account. This took all the birthday entries out of my calender but as events come from the normal Facebook account they were left there. I then went back into Account & sync and pressed on add account. I then logged back into Facebook for HTC sense which then brought back the birthdays into the calender but this time only one entry for each had appeared :)
I have deleted the calender entries before & for a little while I have had the correct amount of birthday entries. I think this time though I have fixed it for good. Only time will tell.
Removing & the the logging back in to Facebook for HTC sense has also sorted out the contacts pictures in handcent sms problem that I had too.:)
