The Tablet Tavern

He's 14 years old ... 98 in dog years. He's had a long pampered life and isn't in any pain other than the aches of an old man. It's the roughest part of owning pets, but I wouldn't trade the 14 years of loyal companionship for the grief of having to say goodbye when the time comes.

And, I know it may seem callous, but I'll be looking at puppies shortly after he's gone. I just can't imagine a house without the clatter of paws on the woodwork. :)

He was 11 when I had to have him put down. He became paralyzed in his back end and just couldn't move.
 
He was a Siberian Husky. Red coat and blue eyes. His name was Yukon Pierre. :D

The first one isn't doing too well. He had a fall and got a concussion. He also cracked a tooth which is giving him some problems but because he's so old, the vet doesn't want to extract it because the anesthesia could kill him. :(

Very sad to here. It truly is the hardest part of owning pets.
 
Morning folks! (or it appears to be evening to the majority of you in here ;))
So two days ago I took a pretty bad fall on the stairs at work carrying some soup downstairs (and ended up wearing it). Yesterday I was just a little sore. Today, my back feels terrible. Hurts to do anything! Good thing my next day off is next Saturday. :rolleyes:

Sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better soon. Make sure you take it easy at work so as if you strain it more it will only get progressively worse. I hope the new milestone for you is a constalation :rolleyes:
 
Yeah, suppose that could be misconstrued a little bit. ;)
They were all jabbing me yesterday. "Be careful on those stairs"! Was all I heard with plenty of laughter.
One of my staff fell with a huge 22qt container full of tomato sauce. Covered himself too and busted the container. He seemed to walk it off after we cleaned him off and got a new shirt. But, I'd rather burn the hell out of my arm or cut my finger than deal with this.
 
I've worked in the kitchen of a pub before (only as a part time job while a student)... can imagine the amount of Micky being taken!! :D
