Had overpriced tea and French pastries with my best friend and thesis mate yesterday for my birthday:D

Actually a trip with my in-laws. We're renting a house on the beach for a week. Blah, and MY parents are coming for a few days. Wife was pissed when she found out they were coopting our vacation.
Whatever, it'll be a nice time to relax and eat some amazing food. I love Charleston. Such a beautiful place. :)

Sounds marvellous. Wanna see that area some day... (did a roadtrip in the southwest in 2011)

Looks like it was delicious. :)
What kind of tea did you have?

I had a variety of black tea they called Mint of Milanje tea and one they call Happy Birthday tea which was appropriate at the time. I forgot what kind of tea it was, though. Their macarons are delicious! They have a weekend menu so maybe my best friend and I will return on a weekend when we go there to celebrate her birthday in around three weeks:rolleyes:

Haven't had coffee in a couple weeks. Been only drinking tea in the morning. Man, do I love our Keurig. :D
Macarons seem to be the new thing in DC. We've since been a cupcake town (), but macarons are starting to blow up. I hate cupcakes more out of the fact that they're a simple pastry that anyone can make at home, but folks line up for them here.
Like, seriously, this is at Georgetown Cupcake in the middle of a 90 degree summer day!

I'm strictly croissant and coffee in Paris. Had to put the sweets in the history books when my blood sugar started going haywire. Don't really miss it, though.

Wow! I'm not a big fan of cupcakes either. I don't like all that icing lol.

I like sweets best when they are an occasional treat :)

Yeah, my wife is still confused that I'm not a sweets person despite going to culinary school for Pastry and Baking. :p
Give me a good croissant any day and I'll be in heaven though.
