Help the word "AMD" instead of "and"????

why the hell does my phone autocorrect to AMD when i misspell the word and? it's very frustrating. is there any way that i can delet it from the word bank?

Hey turboranger91,
looks like you need to delete "AMD" word from your personal dictionary which was probably remembered by mistake while you were typing something to someone...any way, here is how to correct that:

Settings
-Language and Keyboard
--HTC Sence Input
---Personal Dictionary
----Edit Personal Dictionary
Once you enter "Edit Personal DIctionary" you are now able to check all the words which has been remembered by phone, all you have to do is to find "AMD" word and delete it from the list.
Also if you are fed up with autocorrection you can turn it off:
Settings
-Language and Keyboard
--HTC Sence Input
---Advance settings
----Prediction preferences and just unclick on Word prediction.

Hope this will help,
Good luck

I also cant get phone to type "got". Every damn time I try to the phone puts in "for". I've ran my finger very slowly over the g o t with out touching the f or r and it still spells for. And when I hit the button to pull up the alternate words..... got isnt even in the list. Does any one know how to get Swype??? I had it on my EVO 3D and it worked great. But I cant find it in the play store. This sense keyboard is bad.

great difficulty with dictionary, having to get it to remember when / why / how and the choices of words under predictive text is appauling. Is this another design fault, my second...

Thanks! It worked well for me!

Thank you for your advice. However, the word AMD is not in my personal dictionary at all.

Hey, I have the exact same issue; the edit personal dictionary setting is only to edit or remove words that I have added to the dictionary. I am unable to locate this mysterious "AMD" that I am so fed up with seeing!

I just knew when I Googled this issue I would not be the only one! =0)
New here, new to Droid. Left Palm looooong after Palm left me and can't believe I waited.

Any assistance to remove this "AMD" from the stock dictionary would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would think it means AMD as in "AMD Athlon." You probably once mistyped "and" as "amd" and since AMD was probably in the stock dictionary, that's what you got. And I think the more and more you choose the wrong word, the more likely it is to give you that as a result.

right; probably no way to edit the stock dictionary I assume? If not, I'll just have to live with it as I am not looking for replacement keyboard apps or turning of the auto correct completely.

just a shame b/c I'm getting the AMD replacement about 45% of the time I am meaning to type "and."

Definitely get some replacement app. perfect keyboard or swiftkey. Makes a huge difference. You will thank yourself. $2 or $4 is definitely worth it, unless htc gets the 4.1 update out soon (yeah right) and fixes all the keyboard issues (double "yeah right").

i forgot that i had already purchassed swiftkey for my last phone, so i downloaded it and put it to use on this phone. not only do i like it much better, but it did in fact fix the issue i was having. thanks for the reminder.
