Hi, just an old marine with a new Xoom, and looking for ways to improve the device - ability to use my newly purchased 32gb microsd card would be a start.

Unfortunately you can't use the sd card. Not until Motorola updates the xoom , either by an over the air update or when/if you get the 4g verizon hardware upgrade.

Welcome to the Android Forums!

The only way, at the moment, to get SD card support on the Xoom is to root the Xoom, and load a specialized alternative kernel to the device.

The process was initially intended for 3G Xoom tablets but there's a chance that it might work on the WiFi Xoom.
