Root Theme CM7 SMS App?

So i flashed to CM7 reloaded final, and i wanted to theme the default the sms app to the one like in CM9. Is this even possible and how to if possible. Thanks
 
Open the mms.apk of both using 7zip or the like and replace the .png files that should be in drawable-hdpi then put it in /system/app and reboot.

Edit- Dont i have to reflash cuz that did nothing to the messaging app.

Well you can do one of 2 things. Either edit it and put in the flashable zip and flash it or just edit the mms.apk and use root explorer (or adb push to /system/app) and make sure you have root enabled and read/ write access for system memory and navigate to /system/app and rename the current mms.apk mms.apk.bak or something and paste the edited one and reboot.
