Root Themes and mods

Will all themes and app mods work on all roms?
I've been browsing around the Desire themes on xda Desire Themes and Apps - xda-developers and they dont seem to specify what roms they are for... or prerequisite requirements...

All apps and themes that you can download from the market or install from your SD card will work on all roms.

Mostly no. The themes on xda (which tend to be rom themes rather than launcher themeses) tend to be rom specific or at least restircted to a certain set of roms. They are usually listed in the title of the thread. Some are themes for widgetlocker and launchers but most are not. Anything that comes as a flashable zip will be rom specific. Themes usually have to even be built around specific versions of roms. So I found out that Redux 1.2 rims won't work on Redux 2. By app mods I'm assuming you mean things like balcked out GMail etc? They should work across all roms. Just watch out for any Sense specific apps and widgets.

UOT Kitchen is pretty good for cooking up some mods and theme parts yourself. Use it myself for battery circle mod mostly.

I would have thought that any mods/themes would be rom specific.
I wouldn't go flashing general mods on a rom on my phone :-\

....but, you could always try it and then nandroid back if it messes up.

I like the themes on cm7 I must admit. only small color changes but I like em :-D
