OK... I've pulled my framework-res.apk, changed my text emo pngs ONLY, replaced/overwrite the original, reset permissions to original after successful overwrite, wiped cache/dalvik, rebooted successfully w/ no problems.. And no change?! What am I missing? :banghead: Any help would be grateful. Thank you in advance..

i would think those are actually in the mms.apk, not the framework-res. you might wanna check. also youll want to make sure you didnt accidentally replace the wrong ones, sometimes they have different unused resources for other resolutions that our phone doesnt support. cant say ive done it before though so i could be way off, anybody with some theming experience able to give better advice on this?

no idea, but also you may need to factory reset the phone for it to take effect. not sure like i said though. as far as i knew texting crap was in the mms apk lol

Sorry guys but lately life is taking me for a roller coaster ride!!!

Definitely, the emo's are in mms.apk and no, you don't need to factory reset after flashing a themed apk just the usual cache clearing thingy.
Keep trying new ways for theming and always remember that Google is your friend, any questions you have regarding theming, there's more than a hundred people who have already asked those questions.

I didn't flash it, I did it on phone/from phone. Lol
Caused several crashes until I learned the permissions thing

No need to fix permissions when flashing a themed apk with cwm tho.

Don't go ninja morph on us, do it the long way, the hard way, with real tools on your pc. That's the best and fun way to learn this thing.

APK tool, Notepad++, Paint.Net, Gimp 2, Image resizer tool and a Multifile renamer are some of the many tools that you need for a good start.

I've seen ninja morph on play store but not using anything like it. I'm using root browser and ZArchiver and a few theme zips :D gotta change permissions of the apk being overwritten when overwriting it with my modified version so the phone don't crash as it's a system apk in use (caused me to wipe data & restore in cwm several times, lol). It's actually working out... Changes take effect after normal reboot. When I'm done I can pull my framework-result.apk and systemUI.apk for use with another stock based ROM of my choice or design (at least I SHOULD be able to..) Just an experiment in progress as well as learning for future mods. G-Bless junkie and his cwm!:cool: saved me Sooo much!
