Would it be possible to decompile the SystemUI.apk and change the colors of the status bar and settings menu or even the system menu icons? I have tried some Xposed modules but non of those worked.

possible.in fact *some* of that are what im looking to do. now that ive rooted,backed up and rom'd im already starting. will not be an over night affair though. ive done this before and it takes time. tomorrow i will get things organized into either zv6 or 5. then begin base theming then some decomping to see what all i can and canrmt do. just keep an open eye. something will come along in time.
