Theory: 2.1 + Google Voice App = Dialer Lag?

The idea came to me to uninstall Google Voice early this morning to see if it was causing my dialer to lag. Has anyone without Google Voice app, or any other app that integrates with the dialer, experienced any lag while using the dialer? It's only been a few hours but I haven't had any dialer lag problems.

FYI. I'm running the 2.1 "phenomenal" leak, not the original 2.1 leak.

Had some lag today on the dialer but I had been running some intense apps right before it. Rebooted and it was okay after that. We'll see how it continues. Please let us know your experiences, Carmen. Thanks.

I've noticed a little more dialer lag since I have been using Voice, but once i reboot or use a task killer there is no lag.

Wanted to post an update. haven't had any dialer lag problem, save one, since uninstalling GV. I also had another app, Sipdroid, installed that integrated with the dialer. I've also uninstalled it.

I'm going to reinstall GV and see if lag reappears.

This time, when installing, I selected "Do not use Google Voice to make any calls." I use it for voice mail, and if I want to use GV to make a call, I'll call my number and do it manually. I'll post any results in a day or two.

The dialer lag has to do with the long list of calls in your call log. A bunch of us have been using an app called "Call Log Trimmer" to keep the log short and that's gotten rid of the lag.

Not the case for me. I have google voice installed and it's working better than 1.5. Also, I tried the dialer with google voice open and in the background and it worked fine again. I think it might be HTC Sense that is causing the lag. I'm not running that and my phone is doing fine. :D

I think I have this same problem. My lag is horrible up to 5 minutes. Then sometimes it dials the person twice (probably cause I click to call again) Anyway I'm uninstalling google voice to see if the lag is still there. I should know in a day or two.

Sense is always running whether you're using it or not.

I didn't find call log trimming to help. In fact, it seemed to add an annoying delay with "Trimming Call Log!" after each call.

Well after a few days of having google voice uninstalled I have to report that I have had little to no dialer lag. I'm going to reinstall it just to be sure, but I have a feeling Google voice is causing my lag.

Just wanted to let everyone know my experience with the dialer lag. I have the dialer lag every once in a while and the silent phone problem too. The thing is I do not even know what the google voice thing is and do not use it and I get maybe 1 phone call a week if at all and have no call log at all. I do not believe either of these have anything to do with this problem. It is something in the phones software and I don't think we can fix it at all. Has to be fixed by HTC or someone.

Just my thoughts.

i have never used GV and i had bad dialer lag till i installed call log trimmer, that fixed it up

Agreed. I also use Dialer One. Since I've switched to Helix, the Sense "Phone" button isn't there, so I almost exclusively use Dialer One.
