Apps Thesis in Android programming

ugur93

Lurker
I decided to write a program in Android for thesis. I am not sure about that i can accomplish to write the program. In the program,

1.Location of users will be found by GPS. 2. Users will add people as friends and they will see the location of their friends. 3. People can create groups. 4.The main goal is that families can see location of their kids. Users can mark places as safe places and if their kids are at these safe places, they will take notification. 5.People can send messages to each other. 6. If friends are close, they will take notification.

I think you saw this kind of programs in Google Play etc.

I would like to see your comments about this program. It is very hard to write this program or it is impossible or i must have a lot of knowladges for writing this or only some parts of the program is hard to write?

Thanks.

Hi ugur93

Are you new to programming at all?
Have you coded before?
Are you familiar with object-oriented-languages?
Do you know Java? Coded before?
Are you familar with Android enviroment?

i am not new i am studying computer engineering this is my 4.year.
I have coded with Java,C#,Python but i am not expert on any language.
Yes i have coded Java i think i am at middle level
But, i am beginner at Android language. This term, i take Android course in the university but still i am beginner.
I have time until May, therefore until May, i will try to improve myself. Especially in December, i will study for Android language more. And i will write this program in Android Studio since the course in university is Android Studio.
And i think i am a little familiar with Android Studio because i used Visual C# and you know it is also visual programming language :)

He means sdk obviously, but wording was terrible, agree.

If decided - just write...no better way to study sdk/framework, then write pet project, refactoring
modules, and may be rewriting all from scratch after grasping each new framework (or design) concept. Not the fastest way to write program itself, but fastest to learn framework/sdk, imho...
If will meet some obstacle on the way, you always could ask more specific questions here for example. And you always could shrink functionality on the way, if will see that there is not enough time (just keep it in mind when designing app).
