Me and my partner are about to develop a game for our thesis. We decided to use the Android Language. I'm really nervous, I have lots of experience with Java, but I haven't tried Android yet. Our game was inspired from the classic game, Boggle. Does Android really have API for phones with motion sensor features? We really need help. Good luck for us. :)

Oh. My professor advised us to use it instead of BADA. He told us that Android is related to Java. We will only be able to use it if we do have an Android phone. So, that's what we are planning right now.

Anyway, I'm having a difficulty downloading an Android SDK. That's terrible.

Thanks for the reply takeshi.

as i understand it.. it is done in Linux.

yes. there are motion detectors..

1. compass
2. 3 axis sensor (not sure that they call it)
3. gyro scope

note: not all phone have all these features. most have the 1 and 2. only the newest ones have all 3. I think the Nexus S has all 3.

have you tried google's official android developer site?
Android Developers

there's a step-by-step guide on how to download the sdk, as well as setting it up.

AFAIK, Android language is similarly structured to Java, coz its a custom java virtual machine running on top of linux.
