Help Think i broke my Gnex

When I plug the phone in i sometime have to plug and unplug it a few times to get it to charge. Besides that for some reason the phone thinks it's charging even when it's not. I'm going to back up everything and download it to my PC and wipe everything as well as unroot and lock. As long as I can make the problem reoccur then I can bring it back for a new one.

It happened after snowboarding I fell once or twice but not bad and the phone stayed 100% dry. Been using it all season now this. Got my Gnex on launch day, I also get the data dropping issue so I was thinking about an exchange.

Anyone else have this problem??? I'm on AOKP's newest milestone.

thanks!!

had problems getting mine to charge.. i had to lay it face down and let the cord hang to get a good connection.. i called verizon and told them i thought it was the power cord and they gave me a lot better for a replacement

It's every charger. And all day the battery indicators in the phone say charging but in the batty options it says discharging. wtf..

My puppy ate my oem usb cord within 1 hr of me getting my phone. I bought an aftermarket one and have had no issues.

Dude...Snowboarding? Without knowing you must have gotten some water into the charge port. Even if it was sealed in a pocket, I have to believe if you had it on you that you must have taken it out to use at some point. And water from you glove, hand, anywhere must have made its way in there.

Snowboarding, with it in a sealed pocket playing pandora. Only really take it out during lunch and stuff. The problem has continued and im about to flash it back to stock. The water indicators show no signs at all. So im hoping I will get a replacement under warranty.

probably just some faulty connections in the GNex, I've had mine skiing (not a dang knuckle-dragger) as does like everyone on the mountains nowadays....sean, everyone has their smartphones on them while skiing/snowboarding.

I took a heck of a header on a double black on Peak 10 at Breckenridge, put a small chip in the bottom of my screen from that yard sale......now when I look at my phone it reminds me of being on that mountain; so I love the little phone scar. You know what they say, "Bones heal, chicks dig scars, pain is temporary, glory is forever"

This seems to be a moderately wide-spread issue with the usb port on the phone itself. I had the problem one night while rooted, but it was confined to the OEM cord.

After searching around, I found that the most likely cause is the usb port getting out of line, and not making a good connection. There were some suggestions that you use tweezers to bend the center part of the usb port slightly so it makes a better connection. I don't really like that option myself.

Luckily I was able to unroot and get back to stock. Since then all chargers have worked fine. However, I'm going to stay stock for a while incase the issue comes back or gets worse.

If you had headphones plugged in and fell on it that could be enough to tweak the connectors.

They'll probably replace it as long as there are no obvious signs of abuse.

Thanks everyone!! Lots of good info, I dont use headphones I have volume + and I can hear it fine from the pocket unless the wind get to loud which is fine when I slow down or sit on the lift I have some music playing.

Replacement phone will be here tomorrow I think it sucks I can't get a brand new device when it's only 3 months old and cost $300. The indicators arent wet and no signs of abuse so I would say it's faulty hardware and I should recieve brand new but I guess a refurb is the only thing I can get.

PHone is back to stock and still continues to have the problem. Definitely hardware. Hoping restoring all my apps and things goes smoothly on the new device. And who knows maybe the new device wont drop calls like my current phone.

I've been having the same issues and will get my replacement later this week. Did you have any trouble with the device you returned?
