Thinking about a change

I've been with Sprint for 13 years. Overall, it's been ok. Over the past year, I've been plagued with a bunk phone, minor billing issues, and now data and signal problems. Frustrating to me, but I imagine people have these same issues with other carriers.
My recommendation would be to find family or friends in your area and see what they say. How is the coverage area... How dependable is the signal and data... Things like these would be most important to me.
Customer service and phone quality are on point with the other carriers from what I've gathered.

+1. sprint has got great phones and a little cheaper price plans than vzw. but since you are new to sprint, phone upgrade duration is similar to vzw, 18-24 months.
also, if you travel in non-metro areas, sprint might not have as good coverage as vzw, although roaming is okay.

I've been with Sprint for almost 10 years, and its been pretty good. I don't see myself leaving anytime soon. I travel more than most (since I'm a pilot, its not uncommon to be in multiple states in a single day), and coverage has always been pretty good. Customer service has always fixed my issues. The prices are great. Phones are great. As others said, ask someone in your area about their experiences, too. I would (and have) recommend Sprint to others. My dad switched form ATT, hes been happy; my brother from T-Mo, hes been happy; My GF from Verizon, and shes been happy.

yeah.. sprint is great... for those that live in the real sprint coverage area.
all carriers ... exaggerate their coverage on maps... from location to location; they may have different good carriers because of signal strengths.
highly suggest you do as others here have suggested... go talk to real customers in your area.. and pick the one that meets your needs: service, price, and phone. (in that order)

Former VZW customer here. Loving Sprint much, much better. VZW is full of bull, they care nothing about their customers, just their shareholders.
