I am thinking about making my first ROM for the LG Connect 4G. However I have never done this before. Where should I go for some Tutorials on how to make a ROM? Also is there any things I should be aware of when developing a ROM for this phone.
My goal in making a ROM for this phone is to first take Idrifta's Number 2 and replace the ZVA base on that with the VV3 base from MiamiGuy's ROM (If later on VV5 gets rooted, obviously VV5). I love what Idrifta did, and want to carry over his customizations over, to the better VV3 base (or VV5 maybe). If the the Quickmemo app is in VV3, I want to add that as well; Providing that it doesn't hurt the performance of the phone.
Once I have determined merging of the VV3 base to be stable, I will work on some superficial stuff to set my ROM apart from Idriftas. Like, a different launcher (I currently use for myself ADW-EX on #2), I will probably use ADW for my ROM. I want to incorporate a different lockscreen, preferably something that can launch the camera from it, as well as the usual unlocking and changing the phone to vibrate only. Maybe also seeing about themeing the call/dialer app (if it is withing my abilities) to match the themed messaging app. Probably other things as well as I can think of them.
But yeah, that is what I have in mind thus far. Haven't done anything like this before, and am very interested in starting something and learning about this.
