Thinking about moving to boost mobile

Well boost has 4g service and has a nice looking htc phone up for grabs... I am honestly thinking about making the switch.

Why Carlos with the s3 coming things are getting better here also keep in mind boost 4g is wimax which Imo sucks but hey just my opinion

boost mobile's best 4g speeds are 1.66mbps although ive also thought about it im letting boost mobile obligate metro to improve prices/plans to compete against all other prepaid carriers

I honestly don't know anything about boost, I heard their service runs off sprint towers or some crap along those lines. I was just thinking about it

Yes, you don't wanna leave right now when Metro is getting their hands full on a few, and by few I mean 5 new LTE devices by the end of the year including the samsung lightray and of course, the S3 :D

it depends where you live...if your in florida DONT do it...they suck down here really bad..i had them for a hot second..i would get messages daysss later..but when i lived in NY...it worked great...

Wow bro I been around that area you are up there have you been to silver springs

They have 4g allright but a very, very limited area where they offer it. So, I hope you look into the coverage area. From what I have seen it is extremely limited.

Ya.. in silver spring shores actually.. actual springs are like 10 minutes away.. was actually leery of getting the esteem cause I figured it wouldn't get 4g (didn't trust the sales rep) 4g most everywhere except some dead spots..

I wouldn't let the S3 tempt you to stay on MetroPCS, it's going to be a watered-down image of it's true potential. Worst of all, it'll probably be just expensive as any of the real S3's.

yes they do. I was with Boost for 6 months. Total garbage. I get better signal with Metro than with Boost

Personally, I'd go with Virgin Mobile's Evo V 4G (which is a rebranded Evo 3D) rather than the Design 4G, if for no other reason than the dual core processor. The unlimited prices between the two companies are similar; now it is true that Boost has "shrink your payment" but Virgin has some lower priced plans ( $35 for 300 min/month talk or $45 for 1200 min./month) Both companies use Sprint's network, in fact both are owned by Sprint.

Now, I will agree that you need to check Sprint speeds in your area. If you have 4G (Wimax) you should have good speeds, so long as you are in areas with 4G. My experience is that 1.5 mbps is the slowest I would get with Wimax, with speeds more typically around 3 mbps and as high as 9 mbps. Also, both Boost and VM are unlimited for 4G (no throttle, but 3G may be throttled after 2.5 GB) on their plans.

3G is where it gets more difficult, as Sprint's network is overused in many cities, causing extremely slow 3G speeds in those cities but, in other cities, the 3G is quite good. In the areas I used my phone, I was typically getting around 300 kbps but, at times, was getting dial up speeds. In another city I visited, my 3G speeds were always better than 1 mbps. So, as others have said, do the research for your area as Boost or VM can be a great deal or, if speeds are slow, there may be better options.
