Root Thinking of updating my old viper :/

Hi guys.

So finally I'm thinking of going for it !
Still on 1.8 so big deal.
Going to try sunshine first to see if that works.
And then I think I can flash the firmware package ?
.Then latest viper.

.... Slightly scared :D

nandroid done and copied to ext

...doh! failed at first stage :( sunshine don't like viper :D

gonna try one of the stockish roms (thanks EM)

....just installing syncmgr first...

doh! ran out of brain power :( :D
status so far:
adb installed and working - check
stock ish rom downloaded - check
suroot downloaded - check

..so think next move is to flash stock ish rom and then root, then try sunshine again

-then need to get firmware....... head hurts :D

unfortunately ran out of time and brain power ... plus the fear for seriously stuffing my phone got to me in the end! :D

Yeah, the paradox though is that with s-off you're better able to sort any issues out. You're just overthinking it, set aside enough time so you don't get interrupted - you know what you're doing [emoji106]
 
thanks - yes im sure I will - think the bit that finished me off was realising I had to flash a stock ish rom just to get sunshine to work :/
 
got as far as flashing twrp and rooting - does seem to totally like root - but apps can get it - so next to flash rom :D
