Thinnest smartphone case series

I am looking for a case solution for smartphones. I'd like basic protection against incidental dropping of the phone because I usually will just keep it in my pants, shirt or jacket pocket.

But I am looking for something that adds the least amount of bulk possible. I'd really prefer no case at all, but just don't want to risk cosmetic damage if I drop the phone.

I am aware of the Seidio Surface case. Is that about the thinnest case that I can hope for? Or are there others?

Case mate makes a line called barely there cases. They are pretty thin.
