Help This device cannot be upgraded

Upgraded to the latest version of Kies and tried to upgrade from JM1 to 2.2 - on Vodafone.

Registry attached



Driving me mad - the wife's HTC Legend was so easy and painless - it just seems that anything to with upgrading with this phone is a PITA!!!

Any help appreciated.

Has Vodafone released the Android 2.2 update for their Galaxy S yet? The upgrades are staggered across the world. Check up with them. The ROMs are tagged by region and carrier. Some carriers elect to have the upgrades not done by Kies but by sending the phone to Samsung service centers.

2.2 is out on Vodafone, has been for a couple of weeks. I even received a test message.

I am so pee'd off -I just want to upgrade.

I really would appreciate any assistance.

I ended up taking mine to the Samsung Service Center, as it turned out this particular carrier in Asia which I won't name right now, wanted the updates to be done by the service people, although they let Kies handle the update for the Galaxy Tab. They updated it for no cost, though the phone was completely cleaned out and I have to start all over again.

I installed One Click Lag Fix, which I have uninstalled - I haven't un-rooted the phone as installing the latest firmware should sort that - so I understand.

I am tempted to do a factory reset ( I have backed everything on to the sd card) and then try the update etc.....

a factory reset should sort it out ...you have to do one any way after you have updated

there's an app on the net - its called Kies registry patcher. install it, follow the on screen instructions and you'll have your phone upgraded in the next hour or so.

I was seriously concerned after installing v2.2, it is so slow!!!

Applied OCLF and it is is very quick - very happy!
