If you havent heard already, Verizon is running a promotion right now on any new device upgrade to 4G service to where if you sign up for the 2GB data plan, you will automatically be upgraded to a 4GB plan for the same price! I heard about this yesterday for the first time and just had to ask verizon if it were true. Below is my on-line chat with one of Verzon's representatives confirming:

Natavia: Thanks ----! Effective 11-8-2011, we will be running a twice the data promotion that will allow customers upgrading or activating to a 4G device to get twice the data for the same price as their current data package.
you: so does that mean when I activate my new Motorola Razr which is scheduled to arrive on Friday that I will be eligible for this promotion or not?
Natavia: You will be able to get the twice the data promotion when you activate the droid razr.
you: even though I already have a 4G device in the droid bionic?
Natavia: the Data pricing will be provisioned automatically as follows:
Natavia: Customers who order any 4G LTE Smartphone prior to 11/08/2011 and activate it sometime during the promotional period will receive the feature code with the same access fee but twice the data they chose. This includes DROID RAZR preorders. Line automatically migrated to 4G Smartphone Twice the Data Promotion.

Curious about a couple things in your transaction...her (assuming by the name), third post states, "Effective 11-8-2011, we will be running...," yet in her sixth post, she states, "Customers who order any 4G LTE Smartphone prior to 11/08/2011."

Seems to have two differing timelines. Perhaps not an issue??

Wait does this mean i will have already ordered the razr, or can i get it anytime during the promotion and get double data?
 
Gee, so instead of one HD Netflix movie tapping a capped account, you can now watch two ;)

So now you get to watch two movies for $30!

The best way to find out will be to call Verizon Customer Support! ;) It's likely that this promo will apply to all who pre-ordered the phone. That said there's no guarantees since we're dealing with Verizon Wireless.
