connect ur phone to ur pc. download lg update tool and driver for lg connect. put ur phone on internet connection with usb debugging. click update on the lg update program on ur pc. itll download update, shud take a while, then itll install it on ur phone

I'm pretty sure that any message prefaced with BREW is not intended for Android phones. BREW is the OS that most feature phones run, which can be checked by looking at the phone's specs on Metro's website. I've never once received one of those messages on either of my phones.
 
I have to agree and disagree with you. While BREW is and os type, there are many other forms of "BREW" that dont relate to an os type.

BREW could be a command line feature that they implemented into their web server to send such data to the phone to check if an ota update is required and vise versa.

There are tons of other elements that take the meaning and functions of "BREW" types that completely differ from eachother.
Im just saying, that BREW is not a name limited to the os.
