Root this is REALLY weird

So here's the deal guys, I had finally flashed my phone lastnight with steel droid using safestrap. However everytime I want to restore my data to get all of my stuff back while running steel droid it goes into boot up limbo and stays stuck on the boot up animation.
The rom only seems to work when I do a factory reset. Am I doing something wrong?

You probably are restoring /system data through Titanium and this is causing errors. Technically, you can only restore apps w/o data safely, but as long as going GB>GB, I've restored apps + data and SELECT /system data. Which parts, I don't remember, but contacts are sync'd through Google and SMS Backup and Restore does a great job (read quick) with restoring messages.

How are you restoring data? If you are trying to restore using safestrap, backup & restore, advanced restore, that will not work.

The best thing to do would be to:

Use safestrap to go back to the nonsafe system
Restart stock and install titanium backup pro from the play store
Use safestrap to toggle safe back on
Reflash steel droid and wipe data/factory reset
Restart, go through the initial setup.
Go into the play store and install titanium backup pro
In titanium, menu->batch, restore user apps plus data
