THIS.. is what annoys me about android. Cameras!

So I find that the included camera app uses the old style of panoramas, and I much preferred googles camera method ( although I now see they did away with the sweeping method). So I installed googles camera on my lg volt...

no panoramic mode

no photo sphere

WTF, why is camera support so farked up in android? It is impossible to tell what features one lens will support and another won't.

Google Camera isn't giving panorama or photo sphere because the volt does not have a gyroscope sensor. My camera has panorama using the accelerometer. (Camera Awesome) The problem is not Android, it's the available hardware and the implementation of those modes in Google Camera.

I see. I did notice they moved their panorama mode into the photosphere UI, so even if it wasn't required before, it now is because the photosphere code requires it.

The LG mode isn't bad, it atleast works out to be accurate. I was using the panoramic feature on another app that was a pan and scan, but it pissed me off to no end because it would cancel the entire picture outright if you changed the camera tilt even the slightest.

I'm pretty happy with Camera Awesome. The panorama works well and it has a nice selection of after effects. It also allows you to lock focus and exposure separately. Includes HDR, still shot, and face recognition.
