Love those new VM ads they started sending last week. To bad the improvements to the web site they mention are non-existent or broken.I don't like it when Cricket advertises on my phone.

If apps I use start doing that then I will be creating some sort thread/partition to leave a 1 star rating, and report it malicious to Google. We can't take this lying down. We must fight back. Developers can't piss off to much because they'llbe hurting in the end with one star ratings.

The WIKI ENCYCLOPEDIA app issued an update earlier today.In the settings,it gives you a choice of how you want to deal w/the advertising.I can live w/that.Read more on this in the ANDROID MARKET description of this app.

To view on your phone browser,Select 'Browser'.It will re-direct you to 'YOU TUBE'. If you get the 'VIDEO NOT SUITABLE FOR MOBILE' Pop-Up,just scroll down a bit until you see the 'AirPush' icon. Press on the icon & then push 'play'(>) it should play the video.
EDIT:We're all aware of your disdain for viewing video content on the ASCEND,but,just this once,give it a try. C'MON,you KNOW you wanna,you'll like it!

I tried it just the way you suggested but I'm not seeing an AirPush icon.

Naw man,nothing mean intended!Sorry you're having trouble viewing the video.Maybe if you just go directly to YOU TUBE on your desktop PC & search for GIZMODO/AIR PUSH VIDEO,you'll have better results.This ASCEND phone CAN be tempermental,to say the least, when attempting to watch video.

Sounds like you have one SERIOUS AD BLOCKER on your phone & PC. LOL!
Seriously though,all that the video's about is:
An AD, by an AD company,on how to spam your customers w/more ADS,specifically by having AD notifications pop-up in your notification bar.

Yeah, I googled it and found more information that way. That is pretty messed up that they are looking to push ads onto phones that way.
I don't think it would be horrible. If you set it up right. For example, if the delevoper set it up for ever 90 days and one every 90 days the person get bugged with an ad, I dont think it would be the end of the world.
Take angry birds, if you tried to play the game, you know that the ads take up the top corner and sometimes hide some game play elements. But if they removed the in game ads and only used 1 ad every 90 days, I would have no problem.
It would take about 10 minutes to write a white list for your notification bar, deleting whatever is not whitelisted. Then that would get you the ad for free.
But if they decided to have the ad notification and in game ad's, then we have a problem.
