This or motorola atrix?

I'm buying a new phone soon. It seems like the best options for a reasonable price is the motorolla atrix 4g or the nexus S. I can get the motorola atrix 4g for 200$ and the nexus s for 290$, Both are GSM. There is a thread or two about this, but they were like from a year or two ago.
Now that the atrix has gingerbread and should be getting ICS soon, Which do you think is a better choice? Because alot of people in the old threads didn't like the atrix because of the motoblur, but now its gone.
The atrix is more tempting because it's cheaper, but if the S is that much better I guess I could pay more. You can also reccomend other GSM phones in this price range that aren't any bigger than 4 inch screens.
Does anyone know if there is a place where I can get the nexus s for cheaper than 280$ also?
thanks

if i was you i would just get the new nexus you can find them use in like new condition for about 250 these days and i am pretty sure they all run android 4.1

doesn't the nexus s run 4.1 too? And the reason I am not interested in the galaxy nexus is because the screen is too large for my taste, I really don't want to go above a 4.0 inch screen. maybe 4.2 at the MAX, but even then I wouldn't really want it that big.

Both the Atrix and the Nexus S are fine devices. The Atrix is heavier and bulkier, but it's a bit faster with the dual-core processor. I bought one when it was new because of the dock and HDMI output. But I returned it when it didn't work as advertised and the dock is useless if you keep the phone in a protective case. The Atrix has good sound and a louder ringer, but the power/standby switch is in an odd place. I now have the Nexus S and like it better for its simplicity.

YMMV.

Since owning an LG, I always go for Nexus devices. LG's updates were slow, tedious and most of the time never even released. Not that I'm saying all other Android phones are like this, but it has ruined my non-Nexus experience. From now on, it's Nexus all the way for fast timely updates and pure untouched non-bloated Android.

Since I have a Nexus S, I don't think I'll need to upgrade for another year at least. It does everything I need it to and I've never been unhappy with it.
