This phone HATES Capital One!

Ok this is a bit of a weird problem, but it appears my HTC Evo 4G has a deep hatred of Capital One (credit card company). First of all, I cannot use the Capital One app as it displays a "cannot connect" error. Secondly, I cannot visit the site (capitalone.com) in the mobile browser as it displays a "no connection" error, thirdly, when I try to visit the site while tethering (rooted, using WiFi Tether app), it wont load the page unless I keep refreshing and refreshing like 5 times. I don't get it! Capital One is the ONLY site I have issues with! All other financial institutions work fine, what is up with this! Anyone else having this issue? Appears to only effect 4G (WiMax) not 3G.

do you have ad block enabled? maybe its blocking some site that that site uses for ads or something.


if it only affects 4G and no other data connection, it probably has something to do with their secure protocols and the mobile network. sprint might not allow connections to capital ones servers becuase of some previous problem and blocked it network wide.

who knows.

im trying to think outside of the box as to your problem connecting.

Works fine for me using the stock browser and Firefox on 3G, 4G and wifi while using adaway.

It sounds like Capital One is having some server issues, not necessarily your phone.

I can confirm that not only does it not work on my phone, it does not work on Virgin's Overdrive Pro when using 4G either! Don't know what the problem is but everytime I need to pay my Capital One bill I'm forced to switch my devices to 3G. This is really strange.
