Help This phone is really starting to annoy me..

How the heck do you turn off the word correction on this phone?? I swear every word i type when im texting gets changed to something nowhere near what i was typing..I.E. "guys" just got changed to "huye", "there" just got changed to "fuere". Now why the F would i want to say that..

I already went into the language and keyboard and disabled spelling correction. Then went into text input and disabled spell correction and word completion but it still does it. The only other thing i can see is the "prediction" box which is checked and it wont let me uncheck it...

Download a separate keyboard from the playstore. Ive used Q2 since i first bought the phone. VERY customizable with themes and settings.

Go to "Language & Keyboard" then "Internal Settings" then "Trace Keyboard" then you can disable the prediction. I know what you mean the prediction is a joke. Lastly I highly recommend downloading: Swiftkey or Swype these are the top two keyboards on the market and I use them Swiftkey ,but Swype is very good too.

You need a new keyboard. Look for a new keyboard in the Android market. I personally use SwiftKey and it's extremely fast.

There are hundreds of options besides the stock keyboard.

Sounds like you've got a different language set as the default or something

Check at the bottom of your keyboard where the microphone button is and make sure it is on EN instead of ES. The auto correct should work fine then. That button is easy to mistakenly hit and ES makes it miss simple words. I do it all the time with fat fingers.

^ This (last two posts) I had the Spanish language installed because I would occasionally text in Spanish to my friends. I eventually had to turn it off because I kept accidentally selecting ES instead of the default EN. Now I just fat finger the microphone.

Under language and keyboard make sure the setting under Touch input for bilingual prediction is set to None, and International keyboard is set to English. This will fix your issue.
