This seems like a stupid question, but better safe than sorry...

I have a friend who will be traveling in Paris and London. We both have the Droid 2 Global/Verizon. If she sends me an e-mail (gMail) and my phone is synched with that account (so I can view the e-mail from either my laptop or my phone) will Verizon charge me to receive the e-mail since it is coming from Europe? (I will be in the US) If the answer is yes, can I unsynch my phone from my gMail account while she is away and then re-synch it when she returns? Or will all the e-mails that she sent while she was away automatically come to my phone when I re-synch it?

Email goes over the web, it will be free for you. Only thing you would see is your data use. However she may be charged International data roaming fees unless she is on wifi or a local sim.

I would guess you could see how much data you are using by signing in to verizon's website. On T-mobile I can see my data use with the "my T-mobile" app.

Thank you both. I found the My Verizon Mobile application in my app tray and it provides usage details for data, messaging and minutes. :)
