Small history here: Got my Reverb in April loaded with ICS. I waited a while to upgrade to JB. Earlier this week, I flashed mrg666's MiRaGe kernel. A few hours ago, I did a factory reset.

Not only did the kernel survive the reset, but so did Super SU and the whole being rooted thing. In the midst of dealing with something frustrating, here's two things I don't have to worry about!

So it didn't actually "factory" reset (you had ICS 4.0.4 originally); it came back up with rooted JB 4.1.2; correct?

Well, after I took the OTA JB upgrade, that became the thing it factory resets to. I think the new OS came with its own factory settings, which makes sense to me. As soon as the OTA upgrade completed, I did a factory reset to make sure all was settled in nicely, on the advice of some people in this forum.

But yeah, being rooted (including having Super SU installed) survived this reset. Not sure if feature or bug. The kernel surviving makes sense, though, since it's a separate thing.

The thing I'm now really scratching my head over, though, is that other of my files survived the reset. Photos and some data from programs I haven't re-installed yet. I wonder if it has anything to do with my backup settings.

But to answer your question as asked: Yes, it came with 4.0.4 originally and this most recent reset came back up with rooted 4.1.2
