Accessories those w/ otterbox defender

For those who bought the defender for the desire hd to use on your inspire is there any functionality issues. I contacted otterbox and they said that fit was not an issue but that some of the functions/buttons were different so the defender won't work. I know people on here have said they bought them and they fit fine but since you have had it have you noticed anything you cannot do while the otterbox is on (like charge)? I really hate having my phone unprotected but don't want to get a case that doesn't allow me to use all the functions of my phone.
Thanks.

Mine fits perfectly, no issues with use, everything lines up perfectly.
I had to notch out the bottom of the belt holder to allow access to the headphone port,
Other than that it is the perfect case IMHO

so if i don't plan on using the headphones while in the holster I will be good? I don't have to alter the case to use them just the holster correct?
Thanks for your help.

Thank you. I can't see where I would need to use the headphone jack while in the belt clip. I just wanted to be sure I wouldn't have to alter the actual case.
Thanks again!

I have the defender series for the Desire on my Inspire and its a perfect fit also. Another thing too is if you have the Zagg screen protector on your phone, you don't have to remove it off your screen in fear of touch issues from 2 screen protectors. I left mine on under the otterbox cover and it still responds perfectly.

Just got my Desire HD Defender in the mail yesterday and it fits the Inspire like a glove. All the buttons work, holes line up, and the screen is just as responsive without the case.

Glad I ordered when I did... I think we'd be waiting a long time for an "Inspire Branded" Defender to come around. My GF has the Commuter series for her LG Optimus V... I debated getting one for the Inspire but with the sheer size and weight of this phone the Commuter series just isn't enough protection to give me that "warm fuzzy" feeling. The Defender is a tank. ;)

Ninja edit: Looks like the plastic covering the flash also covers the noise-cancellation microphone. That seems to be the incompatibility issue with the Inspire. I'm going to heat up a small nail and melt a small hole right above the mic port and see how that works.

I have the Commuter and it provides great protection. I've had a few drops and the occasional drop & kick, and it has held up so well that there's not even a dent on the case. I thought about the Defender but it just seems like overkill and the sheer bulk of it is huge.

With or without the Commuter on, I can still put my Inspire in the leather holster I use, this is a big plus as I didn't want to get rid of my holster.

Shawn, which leather holster do you use that fits the inspire w/ the commuter case on?

I'm using a MOBO exclusive pouch with magnetic flap.

Got the defender in today and fits great. although I guess I will have to get rid of the zagg screen protector I spent $20 on and get an antiglare one when they come out so I don't have to deal with the oil slick/air bubbles. I can live with those just glad to have it protected!! Anyone know if the zagg is reuseable, should I save it once I get it off or just toss it?

I use the Defender on my iPhone 4 when I am out and about, where I might drop the phone.

I am definitely going to get one for my sons HTC Inspire. They do a great job of keeping the lint out of the case while protecting from drops, where other cases have a tendency to let dust and lint in only to do more damage to my past phones than having no case.

The Defender does come with a clip so the bulkiness isn't so bad, when not wearing a jacket where I can just pocket the phone or cargos.

Got my Otter Box Defender today for my Inspire. Perfect fit except for the mentioned head phone jack location. I don't use a wired headphone anyway so for me - Perfect. I love the belt clip on the outer holster. It doubles as a desktop stand by clipping it all the way open till it catches. I also like the fixed anti-glare screen protector shield and it does not have any effect on the touch screen responsiveness. One thing I must say is that these things seem to be based on a 10% of the phone cost price point but I think it is still worth it. Besides the cost of a new phone I just hate the hastle of the replacement effort if you ever need to do it.

I don't think you can ever go wrong with this product.

When an otterbox defender is on the inspire will it fit in the average guy's pants pocket? It doesn't appear to be much bigger then the iphone 4 defender which fits into my pocket with ease, haven't ordered the phone or case yet still weighing the options.

i have the otterbox for the desire and it fits my inspire perfectly. i also noticed that the membrane for the camera also covers the mic on the back, but i just heated a needle and stuck it through the cut out for the mic, no problem.
