Thoughts on anonymity on the Internet?

You know the funny part is that most colleges have a directory that shows their phone numbers and addresses listed for PUBLIC access?

Mine does...

Input my name (any part of it) and it will tell you my number AND address.

P.S. Mine is STILL listed (Granted the wrong information on there).

Funny, I have been talking to a girl and thinking of going out on a date, and for kicks and giggles I put her name into the search and BOOM, I now have her address and a number...

Scary eh?

I addressed that with my university a few posts up--It is my strong opinion that it is nobody's business other than God's as to what school I choose to attend and how to reach me unless I choose to make it someone's business. Unfortunately, making such info the business of the university I choose has resulted in them making it everyone else's business.

I have noticed the same thing with the other big University in the area...

All I need to know is where you went to college and I can fiiiinnnndddd youuuuu!!! *scary voice*
