Throttle or bad service?

Hi all,
I am a very heavy user, I use anywhere between 2 to 6 gigs a month. Over the past month or two, I have noticed that my service notification says "1x" instead of "3G". Does this mean that I have no service, or am I being throttled? If I am being throttled, is there any way to get over It?
 
If you were being throttled you would still get the 3G icon, Verizon would just be slowing the data connection to your phone.
It sounds like a no service issue. If you usually get 3G you should call Verizon. They may be having issues with the cell tower in your area.
 
It was my understanding that only customers that signed up after Feb. 3rd would get throttled if they were in the top 5 percent.

1x would happen if you have a bad signal, not sure if that's how they handle the throttling or not.

If you are being throttled, the only way to handle it would be to use wifi, which I use most of the time anyway because it's faster.
