Root thunderbolt not working properly

almost a year ago i rooted my phone just so that i could use an app to get mobile wifi. it worked, but after rooting certain app did not work anymore, i.e. facebook app and the internet app, i got around using firefox app to connect to the internet but i could not get around facebook.

now about 2 months ago my phone booted up 1 day and i noticed that a icon came on the top of the phone saying that my memory card is not detected and then it said it need to be formatted. i went thru the process and nothing happen. i insertted another memory card and it did the same thing. so now i dont even have a memory card in the phone. so i think that there is something wrong with the phones reader.

now this past weekend i saw that finally the ics update came out for the thunderbolt. i went ahead and atempted to update my phone and it gave me an error, it showed an android with a triangle and an exclamation point. then after that i turned my phone off called one of my co workers and explained to him what happen, then my phone just suddenly shut off while talking to him. the i tried turning my phone back on, he then told me that the phone was stuck in a constant reboot.

i turned back off, and i told him cant i just hard reset the phone, he could not give me an answer. now when i hold the power button and the volume up button the phone turned on like normal but then the sim card was not working. the setting were telling me that the radio off. there was absolutely no way for my to turn it back on.

if i held the power button and the volume down button it went into revoulutionary i have the option the to do a factory reset, but my friend told me not to and to go online and find out how i ca fix this issue.

i.e. my friend also found a post telling my that any one that rooted thier phone cant get an ota update because it messes up the rooted phone. i diod not know this because i just wanted to root my phone to use mobile wifi instead of paying verizon extra money.

can someone please help...

If you want the OTA without unrooting, downgrading, etc... You can get/flash the stock ROMs here: InfectedROM Android Community Forums

As for the shutting down, the ICS upgrade might fix it, unless it's a hardware issues.
