Help Thunderbolt SD Card Issue

Xech

Lurker
Hi, I know a lot of people have this issue of the microsd card mounting as read-only and there are many threads of it. But none of the threads help with my problem. The SD card started acting up for the past couple of days now and i never bothered to fix it until now. I read the only solution to fix the mounting problem is to reformat it. I would love to reformat it but I want to back up all my data stored in the card. I have a adapter for the microsd card and connected it to my laptop running win7. It kept coming up as "Removable Disk" and i can't access it. I tried other microsd on the adapter and it works just fine. I also tried different microsd onto the Thunderbolt and that works just fine too. Kinda stuck now on backing up my stuff. Please help :(

I assume that this is preventing you from accessing your card data through your phone as a Disk Drive? I've not had the problem, but if you're having card reading issues.. the only things I can think of, would be:

Using the phone as a disk drive, copy it that way. (sounds like you can't tho at this time).

Using a card reader (sounds like this isn't working either for you...).

Do you have anyone else with an android phone perhaps, that would let you try to put your card in their phone, see if you can "disk drive" it to your computer through theirs? Maybe their phone will have better luck reading it?

lastly..as dumb as it sounds...maybe try another card adapter, just to see? (if you haven't, that is). I have one here that works on any card under 2GB, but anything higher, it won't work on. I have to use a newer one to read anything HC.
