Factory reset will not unroot you. You'll need to use the fastboot method to unroot - see the sticky on how to restore

well I guess my question is "SHOULD" I unroot before factory reset.
and I read the restore instructions - does that mean the restore on motorola's website won't work?

- make TiBu backup to SDCard.
- dump SDCard to computer
- format SDCard (in computer or else in the phone after dumping) only do this if you return the sdcard with the phone
- format Media Area (this may be optional, but IIRC the FXZ method does not erase Media area nor sdcard)
- use FXZ method to restore phone completely to stock.
Yes, Motorola's instructions will work ... I just don't think you'll be UNrooted after. Frankly, I see no reason to ever unroot a phone. It's almost ... cruel.![]()

... the BSOD issue (which btw **knock on wood** hasn't happened in over a week).
