I just got my android (Epic 4G) and am having annoyances with screen timeout. Perhaps I'm missing something. I'm finding that for such a supposedly open system that it has fewer settings than my blackberry did.
Issues:
1. On the "drag to unlock" screen - the date doesn't fully show - it's as if the font is too big for the gray area on the screen. How do I adjust?
2. Any way to turn off "drag to unlock" for screen timeout? It seems lame that I have to press the power button on the side and THEN unlock. Seems like it should be one or the other, and drag to unlock should only be necessary if you touch the screen
3. On a related note - any way to set screen timeout that is different from standby? Seems like after 20 seconds the screen should turn off and a touch will bring it back, but maybe 5 minutes later I then have to hit power. I find that I hit the power button 20 times a day - with my blackberry I could just pull the phone out of my pocket, check notifications, and put it back - that's now a 20 second process with both the power button and (sometimes) dragging to unlock.
