I don't know about y'll but I like my things simple. In case anyone wants it, here are couple of original/stock S2 and S3 boot animation I've found. I'm on Touched By SGSIII ROM and it works great on it. I actually mixed and match, S2 for boot and S3 for shut down.

Huge thanks to joshbeach and admin from SamaaNet.

INSTRUCTIONS:

You need to be rooted and use any of Root explorer (I'm using ESFE)

1. Download the zip files and extract them. (For S2, I'm using Original SGSII without boot animation support.zip, don't use other 2 zip files if you don't want to flash)
2. Copy "bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg" to System/Media
3. Copy "shutdown.qmg" to System/Media/Video/Shutdown
4. Change the .wav file extension to .ogg and copy "PowerOn.ogg and PowerOff.ogg" to System/Media/Audio/ui (not sure if it will work if you leave it as wav file, I doubt it will.) EDIT: it works as wav file.
5. Change the permission to all of the files above to rw- r-- r--
6. Reboot

Here is what S2 boot animation look like.

I been using the S2 boot animation for a while now,I also prefer the S2 shutdown over the S3's. There is a thread on XDA that has many more boot animation and sounds.

I'd like to find the Boost boot animation for use with CM 10.1, but it seems that one doesn't exist sadly.

Try this stock-boost-mobile-boot-animation post #4. I looked at the animation and it's an older boost animation from ZTE. No luck on the newer animation that was on S2. Maybe someone on forum can extract it out for you.

You may also want the boot sound in System/media/audio/ui, I notice it's a mp3 file, you might have to change to ogg to have it work on S2.

I know there are many other custom boot animations...this is only for original/stock animation who ever wants it.

What is your point? This post is for "Original/Stock S2 & S3 Boot Animations" like the title says...not custom or any other stock boot animations! People use this forum for help, tip, guide, and etc. I'm just doing my part to help people who wants to have stock Samsung boot animations. So that people don't have to waste their time searching all over the web.

That being said, if you see that the instruction is incorrect, better way to do this, or etc., then by all mean point it out but you keep saying random things doesn't really help anyone.

My point is that the thread I mention has "Stock" and many other boot animations. I understand what the title of the thread means but for the info you provided it just so happens there is a place with that info and more. Like I said there is like 3 different S2 stock boot animations I have seen so wasn't trying to be a jerk its just happen to have stock and custom boots on the thread I mentioned, even the stock S2 boots from t mobile and others.

Hello guys I'm new here. I just renamed the files "bootsamsung.qmg" to "bootsamsung.qmg.old" and "bootsamsungloop.qmg" to "bootsamsungloop.qmg.old". Ok, now that I want to delete the ".old" it won't let me do it. I've used Root Browser, ES File Explorer, Amaze File Manager, and others and they just can't rename it.

I want to rename it because since I added ".old", I cannot turn the screen off with the power button.

Fixed: I did a factory reset (even if you do a factory reset, the problems will still be there, the same if your phone was rooted as mine) and then downloaded Root Browser, once there I went to "system" and "media" (once again), and renamed the files deleting the ".old". It worked and now I can turn the screen off.

Hope this helps somebody!
