Titanium Backup: moved apps to SD without asking?

Is it possible that Titanium Backup would have moved a whole bunch of my apps to the SD card without me asking it to? It may well have nothing to do with TB, but I'm curious to hear if anyone else has seen this.

I have *never* knowingly moved any app to the SD card, e.g. using the stock App Manager. But after using TB for the first time, I suddenly saw a couple of app icons on my home screen with a generic Droid symbol, with "SD" within the symbol too. For those apps, in the stock App Manager, they show up as being not installed. And there is suddenly a whole lot of apps that are on the SD card. And several auto-updates from Play Store failed because it was complaining that the apps could not be found in the default location, or something similar.

This coincides vaguely with me trying out TB for the first time. Could it have been TB that did this? All I have done in TB so far is to backup all my user apps (no system apps). I have not asked it to move anything to the SD card. I also cannot think of anything else I've done recently that would have done this.

Thanks.

I've never had Ti do this without my doing it deliberately (this is with my previous phone - the current one doesn't support the feature anyway).

Often times removing the device SD card without the phone being off or telling the phone to "unmount" the memory card will corrupt what apps you have moved or were installed by default to the SD card as they reside in the device system RAM even though they are not being used.

Same with plugging your phone into a computer to access the memory card as a USB device and not properly ejecting your phone from the computer before pulling the usb cable.

TB will not automatically move apps to the SD card, it is a feature you need to trigger per app or create a schedule batch action to move specific flagged apps to the sdcard.

The apps you see on the sdcard are probably in a TitaniumBackup folder, those are the actual backups of the app and app data you chose to backup already.

In TB, click menu and then "refresh apps list". That rescans your device and sdcard for installed apps and backups in the TB folder.

Now if you look over your application list in TB, apps that TB notices is missing will have a strike line going through the app name. If you have a backup of the app in question you will also have a smiley face on the right hand side of the app listing.

Touching the app listing will bring up the batch menu, then touch the "restore" button to restore the app.

Good luck.
