Titanium Backup Multiple Phones

wanbo

Newbie
I'm getting a Galaxy Nexus soon and was wondering if I take my Titanium backup folder from my current phone, copy it to the Nexus and load Titanium will it restore the apps even though they are from a dirrerent phone?

Greetings wanbo,

It can be done, but I would suggest just restoring the apps themselves. Be careful If you restore data, as sometimes restored data does not like moving to a different phone. I would suggest not restoring system data at all.

I think titanium has a option for cross rom compatibility, but I cannot attest to its usefulness because I've never used it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, I was thinking it would work. Don't worry though I never restore system Data

But now I'm wondering about what you say about not restoring app data across different phones. The phone I have now is the HTC Sensation XE running CM9...and the one I'm getting is the GNex. So, both these phones will be running ICS, shouldn't it be ok to restore app data too?

But either way I'm not to worried about the app data as long as I get all the apps moved over....doing it through the Play Store is a pain

Yea, with both phones running ICS, you should be good. My app data is just a warning. Most of the time it's not a problem.
