Titanium Backup - Photos and Videos and Contacts/Accounts

rdrean

Newbie
I have been reading threads and am a little stumped. I have installed the serendipity update, which I was told I had to wipe the phone to get from 5.12 to 6.4, and titanium backup did not seem to work as well as in the past. Yes, I did purchase the pro version.

First and foremost...all the data from my DCIM folder is gone and wont come back after a batch restore. It also did not restore SMS data and call logs until I restarted (I don't remember that being the case the last time, it was pretty instantly there). Can anyone tell me, does TiB NOT backup photos/videos - DCIM etc? I leave music on the external SD so I don't know if it is designed to back that stuff up too? After TiB backs up the SMS/CALL/other data, does it just naturally take a LONG time for that stuff to come back?

OH...and do other people have problems with widgets simply not loading and needing to be re-instantiated?

Second, Can someone give me a better way to deal with contacts? Titanium doesn't really have to do with this but I use my exchange server for contacts and of course google stores a ton of them. When I add a new ROM it takes FOREVER to get contacts back on the device from my exchange server and then merging all the google/facebook/exchange contacts is just a damn mess everytime. Anyone have advice for me. Perhaps an easy solution to move or cleanly merge my exchange contacts to google? I can stop using exchange to manage my contacts if I know it will be a peaceful process.

Thanks!!!

TiBu does not back up photos/videos/music or any of that stuff, it backs up apps and system data.

I've used it a ton of times and i have always had to restart for it to restore several of my settings including contacts/sms and things like wallpapers and default ringtones

And i dont use an exchange server for my contacts so i dont know what to do to fix that

I suspected that to be the case with photos etc. I always copy the DCIM folder to my pc first - I guess It was a good thing I did!

Sidenote: How do I force the phone to save onto the external card DCIM folder? It seems to be defaulting to the internal
