Titanium Backup Question

Just rooted my droid razr maxx, decided to download Titanium Backup and then the Pro Key as well with the purpose of backing up apps and data from my stock Rom before flashing CM10.1. Did the backup, flashed CM10.1 , then installed Titanium and the Pro Key in CM10.1. When I tried to then restore apps in CM10.1, Titanium did not show any apps available to restore.

It appeared to only recognize apps within the new Rom. I checked my internal storage, and found the Titanium Backup folder with what seemed to be the backup I ran from my stock Rom.

Can someone shed some light on this for me? Being new to rooting and the use of Titanium Backup, I could certainly use some help. Thanks

You have to open up the menu to bring advance options, then go to preferences, then go to back up location, then you can either locate the folder manually or have it detect it on your phone. Once you locate the folder you then have to press use this folder. After you confirm you will use that folder it will restart and you should be able to restore your apps

Restore missing apps with data is a good option to avoid those issues.

That said restoring system data is only an issue across different ROMs.

Thanks very much. This makes perfect sense now. Haven't had time to mess with it yet but hope to soon. Now having a bit more knowledge of backup location, I'm wondering if most would advise setting storage backups on the external sd card as default?

You can or if you want you can back up to drop box or another cloud service

If I go into preferences and enable dropbox and/or google drive, does TB automatically backup to the default location as well as any cloud service enabled.

I really appreciate the help

If you enable scheduling, it will automatically backup to your default location but, IIRC, not to the cloud. I was using Dropsync to automatically snyc my backup folder to Dropbox, which worked great.
