Titanium Backup storage problems

I've just run a backup on my S4 using TB (for the first time)
I imagined it would be backing up to my SD card, which it has, but it seems to have copied onto my device as well as I received a warning about low memory.

Going through my device using a file explorer I've found Titanium backups in various places.

Device/sdcard/TitaniumBackup
Device/storage/sdcard0/TitaniumBackup

It seems they are both the same location, or are they not?

Also if I go to settings > Storage and click on Miscellaneous files under device memory I find TitaniumBackup using 1.67GB there

Can anyone explain what has happened here?

"sdcard0" is actually a folder in your internal storage. This is where Titanium puts its backups by default. If you want the backups to go on the external SD card, you have to create a folder there ("external sd") and change the backup folder location to that one in TB preferences.
Note that any existing backups will remain in the original location, TB won't move them.

iirc, the external SD card is extSDcard on sammy devices.

and, as others have said, the old ones'll still be there, so you can delete them either before or after you do the new round.
