I'm a little disappointed in the microphone volume. People can only hear me if I put it on speakerphone, or if i put the microphone right at my mouth (at which point I can't hear from the speaker).
I am rooted
stock rom
software version D50010b
Carrier is Brightspot/T-Mobile
Searching on google doesn't give me a direct answer. The best I found was (says its for Optimus G2):
[FIX] FIX For Low Mic Gain | Optimus G | XDA Forum
I followed steps:
1. Open System\build.prop using some root explorer (I suggest FX file explorer with root add on)
2. Remount system as R/W
3. Scroll down to # System props for audio
4. Change "persist.audio.fluence.mode=endfire" to "persist.audio.fluence.mode=False"
5. Change "persist.audio.handset.mic=digital" to "persist.audio.handset.mic=Analog"
6. Save file
7. Reboot
Which helped a little with microphone volume. I'd still like it to be louder, however.
Of course, the microphone in speakerphone mode is wonderful. Same microphone physically, as far as I can tell, so it's gotta be a software thing.
So, the first question is, why can't I have the microphone be in the "microphone speakerphone" mode all the time?
The second question is, if I wanted to mess around with files, where would I look to do that?
I was checking out /system/etc/snd_soc_msm, which had:
snd_soc_msm
snd_soc_msm_2x
snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3
snd_soc_msm_Sitar
snd_soc_msm_Taiko
It doesn't make sense to me that there are 5 files?!? Let alone that I'm not sure exactly what I would be changing...
So my questions are:
Which file do I muck about with? Do I delete them one by one until my microphone breaks outright, to figure out which one I want?
Is this even the right place to look?
Any pointers to what to change would be appreciated, thanks!!!
