To-Do Manager and Notes App Across Devices

Relatively new to smartphones and tablets, but through work I received a Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 8 (I'm kind of in love with the Note 8). On my work computer I have Exchange email (and Calendar and Tasks). The Tasks sync with my S4 calendar, but I can't figure out how to add a task without being at my desktop, and it still doesn't take care of notes. Note 8 has Awesome Note, which I like and it covers note management and to-do lists....but I can't add tasks to that anywhere else (not that I know of...correct me if I'm wrong) because it's only available for the Note 8. I'm looking for a To-Do manager and Note app that syncs across devices. I feel like a dunce because I've been looking for days and can't figure this out. Help?!?!

You could try Google Keep.

It's linked to your Google account and supports notes, bullet lists, alarms etc etc. There's an app (free on the Play Store) for phones and tablets and you can access it from a browser elsewhere.

If you need to do simple appointments and rooms, look at Touchdown. Also the Microsoft RDP application works well, though you may have to enlarge it for some options. A mouse also helps.
