Root To ICS and back?

WA_Bob

I've been wanting to jump on the ICS bandwagon and try a ROM or 2 for a bit now. But, I have a question - How hard how is it to go back to a GB ROM or a Stock one even? Obviously I'll have Nandroid(s) from AmonRa, but will they do me any good or will I have to start back from the RUU for the Rezound to get back? I know how to do it, but it's a pain in the a** I'd prefer to avoid.

So, any experiences folks have to share? Enquiring minds want to know!

Thanks!

It's really easyto go back. Especially if you use fastboot to install the kernel. That way you won't have to worry about main version errors. To go back all you have to do is restore your back up then fastboot flash the kernel

great advice above. IMO folks should always fastboot kernels until rom devs start including them in the roms. i have come to hate PxxxIMG files and those stupid android info documents. with s-off,it doesnt matter what that thing says, but with unlocked s-on it is an import piece of the puzzle

if you launch your recovery from fastboot(fastboot boot recoveryname.img ),then you can restore normally. you will not have to reflash your nandroids boot image in fastboot. just wipe and restore like you did with other recoverys on other phones :D

once rom developers start including kernels and updater scripts in their roms,we will be able to flash roms this way as well.
