To insert a MicroSD card

I know, it can seem a very silly matter but... I can't insert my 8Gb micro SD card in my brand new Star A5000.

There's a little immage to insert it, it should be simple, but... when I insert it, it doesn't slip inside and it blocks in the middle.

I tried with another Micro SD card and... it's just the same.

Has it happened to anyone else but me?! Any idea?
Thanks

Alberto

Not silly at all. At times even the should be simplest of things might not be so easily done. Hello and welcome to Android Forums. I've read a lot of problems on this device, but I've never seen one about the sd card not being able to fit inside.

I hope the above info will be of help to you. Good luck and thanks for joining the community. :)

Thanks a lot jefboyardee.
Well... an adapter should be usefull if I have to insert a smaller sized SD card into a bigger size reader (e.g. a micro in a mini SD reader).

In this case my Micro SD card should be fine in my A5000 reader... :-S
Are there different "form-factor" for Micro SD cards? :-/

Thanks

Alberto

P.S. I've better read in my card, there's written "micro SDHC".
Maybe Micro SDHC's "form-factor" is different from Micro SD one?!
:-S

Okay, being that it’s brand new, any chance there’s still some packing crud in there? (That’s another guess.)

I'm going to assume you've tried inserting the card in different ways as well? Also is there a switch that needs to be pushed over to insert the card?

I initially thought that about my Galaxy Tab 7 Plus too. Then I realized its a pop lock. It doesn't slip right in, you push it deep to lock. Then when you need to take it out, you push it again deeper then let go, and the card pops out.

i remember having a similar issue my blackberry bold. was trying to simply pull out the card then one of my friends told me that i had to push it first to remove as it had a spring mechanism.

I got a good one: when I got my first droid, the instructions said (a) pull off the battery cover and (b) put in the battery. But even though the lid just pries off with a fingernail, I didn’t know that and it didn’t say that. So I, not wanting to break the thing in half just after getting it, discovered this forum and asked the Ultimate Stupid Question, to which I actually got an answer. The rest is history...
