Root To root Froyo

I've read through various posts on here, but I just want to know what everyone thinks is the most solid way to root with Froyo (manual update, if that matters). I'm just looking to kill off the bloatware and hopefully gain hotspot access. I'm not interested in adding any custom ROMS or anything like that.


Am I in luck?

Also, while I'm at it... I thought Froyo was supposed to unlock more RAM? Since updating, it seems my available RAM has actually DROPPED. Any ideas?

Everything I've tried has failed. I still don't have root.

I constantly run widgets so I know my RAM will be low.

i just flashed back to stock had some problems one click rooted and flashed dk28 custom rom i know you said that u didnt want a custom but this rom (quantum 2.1) doesnt really feel custom it runs smooth and removes all the bloatware
