Help To root or not to root? Plz help this noob :)

Hi!
So I am really big on twitter! It's pretty much my life (sad I know). Anyways, I would really really love to be able to see emojis on twitter and tweet with them! I am aware that I will have to root my phone in order to do this.
1. Is it worth it?? Will my whole phone be messed up if i do this..?
2. How do I do it? lolol

thanks so much, I appreciate any advice at all!!! I really dont know much about technology, pretty much just use my phone to text and for the internet.

Welcome actress4ever9!
Well, I don't use twitter so I don't know why you cannot use emjoi's? Is it a limitation of twitter or the twitter app? And where did you hear that being rooted will allow that? Just curious is all:)
I mean, it is easy to root but I can't tell you if rooting will solve your emjoi issue because like I said, I dont use twitter.:(

We can surely help you if you desire to root, but there may be another way for emjoi use for twitter.

You don't need root to change your keyboard. There is a you can do without root. I would check here first.

Hmm doesnt say anything about twitter here, thanks though!

Well, I do know that the GoSmsPro text messaging app and the Emjoi plugin for that app (both are free in the PlayStore) will allow emjoi's. Will that make it work for twitter?

I have the Go SMS app and emojis work for messaging! but for twitter I'm pretty sure you have to root. I know nothing about rooting though so I dont want to mess up my phone haha.

You can add a keyboard with those already baked in. Also get the falcon pro app in the market. You can do it without root.

No problem...go to menu/settings/about phone and look for Android Version or Build Number perhaps.

Edit: I would hate to see you go thru the rooting process and find out that it could have been done without root.

Perhaps WhoDoo is on to something with his suggestions.

My wife is a twitter queen. You can get falcon pro and a sweet emolj keyboard off the market. I use the transparent falcon twitter widget over my gyroscope 3D wallpaper and it is just sweet. Never miss a tweet.

^^^^^this guy:)^^^^

So if actress uses FalconPro, does that have the keyboard needed for twitter emjoi?

Is it the "falcon pro" app you buy for 99 cents?

No Falcon Pro is the twitter replacement app that gives you more functionality.

It may have a free version as well. Maybe look for Falcon. But it's worth the buck if you are on twitter a lot.

I think at this point I will move this thread out of the root forum and into the general S3 forums.

@actress....if later you decide to go ahead and root your device, you can start a new thread for it.

It would be easier for folks to keep track of.
Agree? :)

OK I just realized that she is probably wanting apple characters. Which she can use the last app I posted to translate the aplle ones to read. If she doesn't want to copy paste every time she will need root for apple stuff.

Yeah,I dont want to copy and paste everytime. I bought the falcon pro app but I will still have to copy and paste every time. Would there be a way to get the black and white icons without rooting (not the colorful iphone ones)? I can see those sometimes on my twitter feed, but I cant see my own. So maybe I should root

Go to settings > about phone and tell me your build number.
That that number and follow the procedure in the link below.
